The Irish Shows Association would advise all animal owners who have animals insured to have it extended to cover them while showing. This is in order to protect themselves in the event of an animal injuring someone or damaging someone’s property. If that were to happen and it was established that the animal was out of control at the time, they may be held responsible or partly so, for any injury or damage caused and may end up paying all or part of any settlement reached.
